Welcome to Soccer League UK

Small sided football is the favourite style of the game played nationally. Games are played on new all weather, floodlit, artificial pitches. Rules are in line with the laws of association football, with a few exceptions making the game quicker and free from interruptions, which makes it far more exciting.

Small sided football is now so popular it attracts people from all over the country. It is great for team building and encourages that competitive edge and is always talked about afterwards. You will find out as the weeks go on it becomes more interesting especially when chasing the top position!

In the past small sided football usually involved a group of mates, work colleagues or local football teams having a game down the local club or gym, but now with the widespread awareness and superb facilities available the game has become even more popular and more professionally run.

Haiti Charity Night & Annual Award Ceremony

What a night it has been at Soccer League UK. A ‘BIG’ thank you to all the teams that participated in the ‘Haiti Charity Appeal’ and helping to raise a massive amount of over £600 for the Haiti disaster. As promised, all match fees along with extra generous donations that have been made by the teams and spectators were donated straight to the British Red Cross. Also, Bedford Sports & Hockey Centre have waived their pitch fees for this special occasion.

Members of the British Red Cross were on site to show their appreciation and make bucket collection to ensure that maximum could be raised for the less fortunate and for those that are not directly involved with the teams don’t lose out the opportunity too.

The matches were followed by the Soccer League UK’s annual awards for last seasons champions and runner up. There were a number of individual awards for outstanding performances.

The Haiti Appeal and the awards ceremony was supported by Councillor Roger Rigby, Bedford Borough Council's Speaker, The Mayor of Kempston, Steve Collins, Councillor Brian Dillingham, Mike Riley - Chairman of Sports for Bedford and John Moore - Partner with Sharman Law Solicitors, all of whom took part in presenting the teams and individual awards on the night.

The appeal evening was organised by Mohammed Kabir director of Soccer League UK who was delighted that so many people donated their time and effort to make the evening such a success. A big thank you too all the teams and spectators for helping those that are less fortunate in Haiti.

Outdoor - Wednesday 3 March 2010

After a long week of rain and stiff breeze, Soccer League have been in preparation for their 'Thursday League Haiti Charity Night'. A round of brawling games went on set, this is what we've had:

Premier Division

Match of the night: Sambuca 2-1 Complete Utters & Mutters (Match Rating 10/10)
An end-to-end match with non-stop action from both sides. Sambuca skipper, Martin, all over the pitch with crunching shots from every angle only to be saved finely by the keeper. Aaron H (1) and M Ivy (1) with terrific goals to seal the victory. M Darzat (1) with the only one for The Mutters. A powerful but clean game.

Harpur Sunday 2-0 Fergies Soldiers (Match Rating 8/10)
A one sided game as Harpur Sunday marched over Fergies men. Alex G (1) with a shocker left the Soldiers shaking. Asim pulling the team together, not putting their heads down played on. Many chances were up for grabs for Fergies Soldiers but they weren't taking them. Tom D (1) with another dropped the Soldiers to the ground.

Boca Seniors 2-4 Bedford Albion (Match Rating 9/10)
A fine performance from both teams, but Bedford Albions got the better of it. Boca Seniors had many chances but not all of them taken. Gee (2) with the duo, trying for a hat-trick but didn't quite get their. Shin (1), Connor D (1), Tom W (1) and Rich E (1) with damaging goals sealed the victory.

(Cup Match) Brickhill Man 5-0 Duke Inn (Match Rating 10/10)
The champions Brickhill Man hammered the Duke well Inn. Dan (1), Ish (3) and Rob P (1) with 5 magnificent goals leaving Duke Inn stunned. Duke had chances but weren't taking the lot as usual. A well deserved 3 points for Brickhill Man.

Division 2

Match of the night: Odd Shots 1-0 Lolz FC (Match Rating 10/10)
Man of the match went to Kevin (1) who scored a blinding goal against Lolz FC. Lolz manager Brendan Cunningham was devestated over the loss. Odd Shots and Lolz FC had about the same amount of chances, but Odd Shots came on top.

(Cup Match) QP United 3-2 Street Strikerz (Match Rating 9/10)
A fast paced match between these two great teams. Street Strikerz played outstanding football but where overpowered by QP United as they fired in a last minute goal.

Jammie Dodgers 1-2 Sharp Shooterz (Match Rating 9/10)
A new manager for Sharp Shooterz meant new strategy on the pitch. Safyan Iqbal, managed the team very well. Matt (1) scored the only one for the Jammie 'artful' Dodger. Sharp Shooterz retaliated quick from Waqar (1) and Jahedur (1)

Goodfellas 1-0 Eagles (Match Rating 9/10)
Roberto Forestino (1) has been playing outstanding from the start of the new season scoring in every game so far. A nice touch from Moyne Uddin caught Roberto to slip it past the Eagles goal keeper. A good game overall.
